Two lovers and her Unicorn_fantasy romance Page 10
Naylaa turned away to hide her smile at the authority in her mate’s voice. She loved how their relationship had developed. He listened to her now. She kept walking and began to notice rocky outcroppings that looked familiar. “Where are we going?”
Gorvan smiled mysteriously as he stepped up next to her and took her hand.
“You’ll like it. It’s a surprise.”
His reassurance did nothing to alleviate the small ache in her heart. It had been a month since he had been attacked. He had finished the addition on her home, and she now had a place to treat everyone who came to see her. It was a wonderful gift and it had made her life much easier.
They had not spent a night apart and often talked about their future. Naylaa knew Gorvan was happy but wondered why he had never asked her to make their connection more permanent.
She laughed when they entered the clearing where they had first made love by the waterfall. Pleasure washed over her when she saw Bronte and Seinna standing in the pool.
“What are we doing here, Gorvan?”
Her big blue-eyed man dropped to his knees in front of her.
“Naylaa, I love you.”
Hot tears sprang to her eyes and ran unheeded down her cheeks. He had never actually said the words.
“I love you, too.”
He smiled that smile that spread heat across her lower belly and clasped both of her hands in his.
“I know you do. You show me every day how much you love me, it’s one of the things I love most about you.”
Happiness flowed along their connection and a subtle echo of pleasure radiated off their United Unicorns. Naylaa was giddy from the emotions.
“That is why I want you to mate with me, become my partner for life. My town has a ceremony where two people who wish to pledge their love and commitment, exchange vows and gifts.”
She smiled down at him, overwhelmed. Why hadn’t he warned her about the gifts? What did she have to give him?
Gorvan stood up and looked into her green eyes.
“Naylaa I love you more than anything else in my life. Where you are, I will always be. I love your strength, your compassion and your determination. I love you because you are everything to me. You are perfect and I promise to always put your needs ahead of my own.”
Gorvan pulled something out of his pocket and handed her a long necklace, made of intertwined ribbons, beads and feathers.
There were strands of Seinna and Bronte’s mane’s intertwined with the ribbons.
The sentiment lifted her heart.
She cleared her throat and placed the necklace over her head. It hung heavy and warm between her sensitive breasts.
Her hands reached for his and he gave them to her gladly.
“Gorvan, I love you. I have waited my whole life to feel as I do now. Happy, secure, whole and safe. That is all because of you, and I would like nothing more than to become your partner for life.”
She leaned forward and their lips meshed, sealing their hearts’ bargain.
When she pulled back she turned to smile at their Unicorns, where they were splashing and making happy noises in the shallow water.
Her eyes lingered on Seinna’s swollen belly and the solution to her gift-less problem popped into her mind.
“I have a present for you too.” She told him.
Gorvan’s blue eyes lit up in recognition even before she stepped close and placed his palm on her belly.
His hand cradled their newly conceived child and he dropped another kiss on her upturned lips.
“I had hoped you would, you always know exactly what I need.”
Several months later.
NAYLAA KNELT ON THE bed that she had conceived her child in, baring down to bring forth the babe.
“Aaaggghhh,” she moaned, feeling her flesh shift and lift to allow her child movement into the world.
“It will be very soon,” her mother assured her, rubbing a hand gently over her abdomen.
“You’re doing so beautifully Naylaa. You’re almost there.” Para crooned from her other side. Her constant companion and forever friend. Their bond had grown stronger since Gorvan had entered her life and she was forever grateful for that.
The thunder outside grew louder and louder. Unicorns whinnied in the distance and her connection to Bronte strengthened.
“Our babies cannot be born on the same night,” she groaned, baring down again.
Marii laughed gently.
“Your child will be born when it is destined to be.”
She pushed once, feeling her child’s head slip free before she rode one more contraction to its end and pushed with all her strength. Her baby boy slid free just as the rain began.
Marii chuckled gently and wrapped her grandson in a blanket. “Your son is blessed, just like his parents.”
Naylaa collapsed against the headboard and reached out for her son. He cried for a moment but settled as soon as he felt the warmth of his mother’s skin.
A second wave of intense satisfaction slid over her as Gorvan saw his child for the first time.
Unable to contain all the emotions running through her, tears began to fall down her face.
Naylaa’s child had her blonde hair but his father’s blue eyes. He would be strong, he would be United and he would be loved.

No Tamsin Baker book is the same except there won’t be a lot of angst in as she wants her books to be everything that a fictional world can be- full of happy ever afters, dirty words and sweet love. ‘Love is love’ and she tries to show that in a range of sub genre’s, from m/m contemporary to paranormal ménage. She has a need to shock people and bring up embarrassing topics at the most inappropriate times.
